Manager – Deeptech

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager to drive the planning and execution of initiatives in the Deeptech space, including our newly announced Sakura Deeptech Accelerator. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about deep technology, startups, and venture capital, with experience in program operations, event management, and stakeholder engagement. 

Working with other Scrum Ventures Group members, the Manager will oversee the entire accelerator cycle—from kickoff to demo day—managing logistics, mentorship sessions, corporate partnerships, and startup relations. Additionally, there is potential for involvement in future Deeptech-related acceleration/incubation projects as well as fundraising and setting up a deeptech-focused fund related to the program. 

Stakeholder & Relationship Management 

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with mentors, corporate partners, startups, and investors. 

• Serve as the primary point of contact for startups, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance. 

• Work closely with internal teams at Scrum Ventures Group and external partners (particularly Japanese corporates) to enhance the program’s impact. 

Fundraising & Venture Development 

• Support the fundraising and establishment of a deeptech investment fund related to the accelerator. 

• Engage with potential investors and LPs to explore funding opportunities for participating startups. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• 5-6 years of experience in accelerator program operations, startup consulting, venture capital, event planning, or a related field. 

• Strong interest and knowledge in deeptech, startups, and investment trends. 

• Excellent event planning, project management, and organizational skills. 

• Ability to work across multiple stakeholders, balancing various priorities in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. 

• Fluent in Japanese, with proficient English communication skills (spoken & written). 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in startup investment, venture capital, or corporate innovation. 

• Familiarity with deeptech industries such as climate tech, robotics, and AI is preferred but not required.
